First stop you should make is King Range Office on Shelter Cove Road en route to Shelter Cove Parking at the South end of Lost Coast Trail. Get your free camping permit and waterproof maps ($5) here. Also, it is good idea to consult the park ranger for current condition of Lost Coast Trail and learn what to expect.
