Freshly Caught Live : Catacomb Party 2015

As if the news of snow falls and below 40 temperature are tales from distant planet, we, people of California are already fussing about which music festival to attend next.

Leaving the Bay Area, we drove for two and half hours on freeway stretching through drying reservoir and farmlands — we arrived in Fresno in the afternoon just in time to catch the freshest new fruits of Californian culture: Catacomb Party.

Catacomb Party took place at the Fulton Mall in downtown Fresno, which shouldn’t sound too offensive to say was not necessarily the most happening place on earth. Open air galleria was aligned with yawn inducing concrete buildings and just waiting for something to pop and make some noise. Catacomb Party brought perfect dosage of gala to wake this sleepy town to cranked up amplifiers.

As I entered the mall through paper-made tunnel, I found myself in the middle of party. There I immediately felt the energy of people coming together from different walks of life; some may be from this area and some are probably from elsewhere. Party zone constructed behind the tunnel was full of arts and music, and everyone was there to experience them all for FREE. Despite the undeniable low budget vibe, it was not so hard to find comfort in this charming little festival.

My friend hooked me up with the pass and I was able to maneuver through amps and crowd separators to capture the powerful stage performances by many talents from across California and beyond!
